Montecristo is celebrating nine decades of excellence with the debut of a rare, limited-edition cigar designed to honor its storied heritage while appealing to modern connoisseurs. The Montecristo 90th Anniversary cigar—crafted by Rafael Nodal in collaboration with the Plasencia family—will roll out this August in a highly exclusive launch available first at Casa de Montecristo locations, followed by a wider release to retailers nationwide beginning September 15.

Blended with all-Nicaraguan tobaccos and handmade at Plasencia’s factory, this medium-bodied cigar offers notes of roasted coffee, dark cocoa, and a smooth, creamy finish. Retailers can expect exceptional construction, an effortless draw, and a flavor profile that pays tribute to Montecristo’s Cuban roots while presenting an elevated, luxury smoking experience.

Crafted for Collectors—and Retail Theatre
Two vitolas will be offered: the Nacional (5 ½ x 56 Parejo) with an MSRP of $38.75, and the No.2 (6 1/8 x 52 Figurado) priced at $40. The limited run is ideal for retailers looking to attract collectors and enthusiasts seeking rare, commemorative cigars.

In addition to the cigars themselves, Montecristo has partnered with French watchmaker BRM Chronographes to create a limited-edition timepiece—only 35 will be produced globally—available as part of a collector’s kit that includes a custom Montecristo humidor equipped with a watch winder, accessories, and high-end gaming elements. The full Montecristo x BRM kit is priced at $15,000 and offers a luxury upsell opportunity for retailers catering to high-net-worth clientele.

Retail Launch Events: A National Tour
Montecristo is supporting the 90th Anniversary launch with a national series of curated events designed to draw foot traffic and generate buzz.
