Espinosa Cigars Names Laura Barlau Vice President of Key Accounts and Special Projects

Espinosa Cigars has appointed tobacco industry veteran Laura Barlau as vice president of key accounts and special projects.

Barlau brings 19 years of industry experience to the role, with a background that includes cigar purchasing, vendor relations and retail partnerships. She has worked in the tobacco and cigar industry since 2007.

In her new position, Barlau will work with Espinosa’s online retail and distribution partners. Her responsibilities will also include private-label projects and contract manufacturing as the company works to expand distribution and support its retail relationships.

“We’re very happy to have Laura join an already solid team,” said Erik Espinosa, president of Espinosa Cigars. “She brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience, along with a fresh energy that will serve our partners and our company well.”

Barlau said she was drawn to the company’s direction and plans for continued growth.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Espinosa team,” Barlau said. “Erik’s vision and perseverance have positioned the company for great things, and I’m honored that the crew is putting their trust in me to be a part of this exciting future.”

The appointment adds an experienced retail and vendor-relations executive to Espinosa’s leadership team while giving online retailers, distributors and prospective private-label partners a dedicated point of contact for several areas of the company’s business.
